Foundation Station is GHY University's flagship onboarding and foundational learning program designed for associates who are new to the customs brokerage industry. Just as every successful journey begins at a station, every successful customs brokerage career begins here.

Through a structured, step-by-step learning path, associates build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to process customs entries accurately, understand U.S. import regulations, and provide exceptional service to our clients. From customs fundamentals and HTS classification to commercial invoices, Partner Government Agencies (PGAs), tariffs, compliance, and entry processing, each learning "stop" prepares associates for the next stage of their professional journey.

Foundation Station combines instructor-led training, hands-on practice, real-world case studies, job aids, assessments, and coaching to ensure every learner develops a strong foundation before moving into more advanced responsibilities.

Progressive learning path for GHY associates to adopt Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft 365 apps, Power Platform basics, Copilot Studio, and AI-assisted workflows. Based on the GHY Copilot Learning Syllabus. Includes certification paths with MS-900 and AI-900. ~3 hours | 6 modules.

Mandatory security training covering password management, phishing awareness, multi-factor authentication (MFA), data classification, incident reporting, and GHY security policies aligned with NIST CSF and CTPAT requirements. ~3 hours | 7 modules.

Foundational course for all new hires covering GHY's history (est. 1901), mission and values, C.A.R.E. principles, organizational structure, IT setup and acceptable use policies, employee guidelines, and key contacts. ~2 hours | 6 modules.

Specialized training on Section 232 steel, aluminum, and copper tariffs, Section 301, Section 122, anti-dumping/countervailing duties (ADD/CVD), derivative classifications, SIMA measures, April 2026 updates, and practical scenario-based assessments. ~3 hours | 7 modules.

A comprehensive course covering the Canadian import process, CBSA, CARM, tariff classification (Harmonized System), customs valuation, country of origin, documentation requirements, border processes, compliance and audits, and real-world case studies. Built from GHY training materials. ~4 hours | 7 modules | 50 quiz questions.
